Siemens was recently tasked with designing the maintenance and overhaul programme of Eurostar’s new e320 fleet at Temple Mills depot and commissioned North Star to help analyse and review current data and propose a solution. We were asked to ensure a minimum of 88%-100% fleet availability during the week to guarantee the highest levels of customer service, whilst ensuring that down time for maintenance and overhaul would be kept to a minimum through task and activity optimisation at the depot.

We conducted a review of depot capacity and made recommendations on resources and optimal maintenance team levels to meet train availability demands and deliver an effective depot operations plan.
