Lesley Dorrington

Senior Consultant

Lesley is a business strategy and management specialist with 23 years’ experience, predominantly in the rail industry. She has held senior Human Resources (HR) roles within a variety of organisations, working collaboratively with senior colleagues at a strategic level, being creative and innovative in recommending both business and HR decisions which have resulted in high-quality solutions to improve businesses and increase value for money and efficiency. As a consultant, she has supported large organisations in franchise bidding, including MTR’s bids for the Wales and Borders and West Coast Partnership franchises. More recently, she has enhanced her blend of rail, business and HR knowledge and experience through her work as an Evaluator for the Department of Transport (DfT) for their evaluation of National Rail Contracts (NRCs).

Lesley’s previous projects have included undertaking an evaluation of TOC’s performance, specifically business management activities, in delivering their NRCs on behalf of the DfT, and she advised on people issues for Scottish Rail Holdings (SRH) as ScotRail successfully transferred to public ownership. She also provided advice for Northern Rail on the development of their Business Plan for submission to the DfT and was instrumental in the development and implementation of Trenitalia c2c Ltd’s annual and three-year strategic plans and representing people issues to the Board.
