Permanent Appointments Announced as North Star Middle East’s Presence Strengthens

April 2017

In support of North Star’s continued growth and strengthening presence in the Middle East market, the start of 2017 saw the permanent appointment of Leanne Wheeler as Operations Manager (Middle East) and Katy Polley as Operations Support Consultant. Both Leanne and Katy are supporting the continued development of the business within the region and are permanently based in our Dubai office. Leanne and Katy will build on North Star’s success since the Middle East Office was established in 2014, with Richard Brown continuing as Managing Director.

The team were formally introduced during a networking event which saw a gathering of industry professionals and provided a great opportunity for us to not only introduce the new Middle East team, but to meet with rail professionals, both old and new faces, in the area.

2016 saw a significant increase in North Star’s presence in the region with extensive commissions to support proposals for the operations and maintenance of the Doha Metro, Lusail Tram and Riyadh Metro systems. Our work included bid management, subject matter expert development of plans and writing/quality reviews.

Leanne Wheeler joined North Star in 2015 as a London-based consultant and brings with her consultancy experience in rail bidding and communications projects, building on a background with Eurostar in customer service and corporate communications. In addition to managing business operations within the region, Leanne will continue to provide services as a Senior Consultant.

Katy Polley joins North Star as Operations Support Consultant, bringing with her a strong and well established background in PR where she has managed corporate and consumer accounts with expertise in strategic communications. She has lived in the Middle East for over seven years and has prior rail experience working for Metronet in London.
