North Star are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark McCole as Director of Rail. With a career spanning 24 years, Mark has successfully delivered projects and managed railway operations in both the UK and abroad.
Mark brings with him extensive operational expertise and a proven track record for outstanding delivery within challenging environments. He began his career on major rail lines in the UK such as Manchester Metrolink and Croydon Tramlink and took on the role of Operations Director for the Dubai Metro; one of the highest performing metros in the world.
More recently, Mark has worked in business and bid development, working on and leading some of the largest rail projects in the world alongside governments, clients and world leading PMO organisations.
Most recently, as Transport Development Director for RATP Dev, Mark was responsible for business development opportunities in the UK, Ireland, North America and Asia. He also led bidding and business development of rail projects for Serco Middle East, and was involved in a number of winning bids, including for the operation of the Al Sufouh (Dubai) Tram, Saudi North-South Railway and Doha Metro/Lusail Tram shadow operations.
Also joining the North Star UK team is James Bonehill. A recent first-class geography graduate of Plymouth University, James joins as Operations Consultant and will support the team with technical bid writing and implementing North Star’s Quality Management System.
