North Star releases its 2019 Global Air-Rail Market Share Report
Passenger transport and operations consultancy North Star, has released its seventh annual Global Air-Rail Market Share Report. The report evaluates a sample of worldwide Market Share trends of rail connections to airports. North Star assessed a combined 60 million air-rail passenger journeys, which occurred during 2018, from a sample of air-rail operators in Australia, Malaysia, China, the United Kingdom, France and Austria. Whilst acknowledging the vast worldwide patronage that continues to use air-rail connections, North Star’s Managing Director Richard Brown recognised the ongoing headwinds facing the industry. Mr Brown reported that North Star’s analysed Market Share index increased in 2018 for the first time in three years.

Aaron Wood joins North Star as Head of Maintenance
We are pleased to welcome Aaron Wood as Head of Maintenance to strengthen our expertise in this area. Aaron is an experienced Engineering Project Manager in the rail and aviation sectors. His experience includes the delivery of several flagship and high-value rail projects, including managing all phases of project lifecycle from planning and implementation, through to monitoring, review and completion.

Director of Rail Mark McCole Presents at 14th Annual Light Rail Conference
In July 2019, North Star’s Director of Rail Mark McCole attended the UK Light Rail Conference in Manchester where he presented on Early Operator Involvement in Light Rail Projects – Past, Present & Future.

North Star celebrates first year in Australasia
In July 2019, North Star celebrated one year since officially launching in Australasia. In August 2018, North Star gathered with industry colleagues and peers to mark the launch of its third international office at the Sydney Opera House, with a warm welcome provided by the UK Department for International Trade Consul General and Deputy Trade Commissioner for Australia and New Zealand, Michael Ward.
