Mike has led a function at London Underground (LU) developing and delivering a wide range of real-time operational control and network wide operational systems and services. This has included the realisation of the benefits of new technology and new operational systems.
Mike was a part of the Operations senior team and was an incident Duty Director. He was a founding Board member of the CIRAS Trust prior to the transfer of its operation to RSSB. Mike has provided senior level liaison with BTP and Govt. security agencies on policing and security matters. He was the LU Gold at the Strategic Co-ordination Centre during the 2005 terrorist attacks. Mike has led the development of safety assessment standards within both the railway and nuclear power sectors. He led the development of a long term safety improvement programme at LU and was part of a pan-European power utilities group developing safety requirements for future nuclear reactors. Earlier in his career Mike led the development of client relationships and the programme definition and technical and financial control of engineering assessment projects for the nuclear industry
